Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Our World ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. Our World is a private family social network designed to help families stay connected and preserve their history.
Account Responsibilities
When you create an account with Our World, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
- Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access or security breaches
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
- Not share your account credentials with others outside your family
- Ensure that child accounts are created only for legitimate family members and are supervised appropriately
Family administrators are responsible for managing their family group, including inviting members, creating child accounts, and moderating content within their family.
Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of all content you create and share on Our World. This includes:
- Photos, videos, and other media you upload
- Posts, comments, and written content
- Family recipes, stories, and historical records
- Event information and related materials
By using Our World, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service and making your content available to your designated family members. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for any purpose other than providing the Service.
Acceptable Use Policy
Our World is designed for positive family connections. You agree not to:
- Upload or share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with a person or entity
- Upload viruses, malware, or other malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose or spam
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law
- Share content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate our policies.
Beta Testing Acknowledgment
Our World is currently in beta testing. By using the Service during this period, you acknowledge and agree that:
- The Service may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features
- The Service may be modified, updated, or changed at any time without notice
- Data preservation is not guaranteed during the beta period. While we make reasonable efforts to protect your data, there is a risk of data loss during system updates, migrations, or unforeseen technical issues
- You should maintain your own backups of any important content you upload
- Service availability may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or technical issues
- Features may be added, removed, or significantly changed based on user feedback and development priorities

Termination
Your account may be terminated under the following conditions:
- By You: You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us
- By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Use, engage in harmful behavior, or if required by law
- For Inactivity: Accounts that remain inactive for an extended period (12+ months) may be subject to deletion after notice
- Service Discontinuation: If we discontinue the Service, we will provide reasonable notice and an opportunity to download your data
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
- Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim
- We are not responsible for content posted by users or the actions of family members within your group
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Our World, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
